Hopes & Fears
As we gear up for the 2012-2013 school year, please share your greatest hopes and greatest fears as they relate to Daniels Academy! Please be honest and reflective in your responses.
My greatest hope is that our campus is a respectful, harmonious, fun and productive environment. If there is a sense of joy and happiness, work doesn't feel so much like work no matter how intensive.
My biggest fear is the unknown. We have new administrators, counselor, staff members and the TAP program itself. With newness, comes awkwardness and the nurturing of mutual trust and respect. We have to get to know each other's little quirks.
Welcome back to school! I know last year was very stressful for everyone on campus. Now is the time to be renewed with a fresh start and come in with an open mind for a new beginning.
My greatest hope this year is that we can once again become the Daniels family that we were previously. The family who laughed together, respected one another, and worked productively to reach our goal of high student achievement.
My biggest fear is that we will not become the family we once were. I fear turmoil and incohesiveness (which being a blue, I cannot handle!!)
My hope is that we are up to the new challenges this year, particularly with becoming a school of choice and a science/math academy. My fear is not meeting these expectations.
My biggest hope is that we all come together as educators and a family to ensure that David Daniels is a positive, respectful and enjoyable environment.
My biggest fear is not getting answers to important questions.
What I'm hoping for, and looking forward to, is establishing new relationships with the new staff members and creating a family type atmosphere with an emphasis on teamwork. I'm hoping this will help us have a successful school year with the new system that will be in place.
My greatest fear for this school year, and every school year, is having a child with a bright mind that I cannot reach due to external circumstances beyond my control.
My greatest hope is that we work collaboratively, as a whole schhol for the success of EVERY student. My greatest fear is not doing everything in my power to help a student be successful either academically or socially.
My greatest hope is working as family united and helping each other. We need to respect one another and students needs to have high expectations of themselves. From past experience my greatest fear is we will not have administration support in regards to discipline.
My greatest hope is that we work as a team for the success of all students. I also hope for strong discipline that is supported by administration. My greatest fear is lack of time with my GT students. I will only be on campus half the time and feel that is not enough time to serve my students' needs.
My greatest hope for this school year is to learn my new role and use it to impact students by allowing them experiences they otherwise would not have. My greatest fear is being to far removed from the classroom.
My greatest hope is that team members work together to accept new ideas and be respectful of individual differences. I don't know that I have a greatest "fear" but I am concerned that school will start soon and I still don't know how things are going to change.
My greatest hope is that we all work well with one another and support each other on a daily bases. Im very excited about starting this school year! I do not have any "fears" but I recognize there will be challenges. :)
My hope is to create a sense of family and community within the school again and to work as a collaborative unit with great support teams. My fear is the failure of support in a child's home, even the smallest accomplishment could make the biggest impact in their life, not just for academics but as a successful individual as well.
Daniels Elementary has always been a school of educators that pulled together and did what was best and necessary for the success of our students and our school. We have always been a staff that embraced and respected the differences of each other, my prayer is that these values will be enhanced and continued. I look forward to a productive year for all.
My greatest hope is that as a new teacher I learn as much as I can from my co-workers. I hope that I inspire the minds of my students and make new relationships with the teachers of Daniels. My fear is that I'll fail my students. I have had nightmares that while trying to teach my students how to read that I forgot how myself!
My greatest hope is to help students discover the keys they own to open doors to all the potential within to succeed in life. That they are able to embrace the fundamental knowledge and skills; so students grow to be critical thinkers and problem solvers. My greatest fear is being restrained by comfortville and the next step to this goal.
My greatest hope is mostly that we(admin, staff, and parents) work closely together as a team to set and obtain high expectations and goals for ourselves as well as our students.
My Greatest fear is that we will become overwhelmed and overloaded to a point where maximum effort will not be put into making this challenging field of education more efficient and effective when it comes to students growth and achievement.
My greatest hope is for all our students to find themselves in a safe environment where learning is an interesting and fun daily activity. My greatest fear, is there a Coca Cola dispensing machine in the building??
My hope is that the family atmosphere that has always been at Daniels will continue this year. It is what has made this campus stand out! I hope to be effective in applying my newly acquired ESL knowledge. My fear is that I will suffer from change overload.
:) Smile friend, I am definitely in agreement, but I know that we will always be in each others corner and possess a support system that can never fail. :)
My greatest hope is all of the hopes mentioned above:), as well as the hope of rekindling the passion I once had for teaching.
My greatest fear, is fear itself. With all the newness comes change, which is not always easy and sometimes challenging. That is itself is more than enough to fear.
I share your same hopes and fears! My hope is that we work collaboratively as a team and that our students learn beyond our expectations.
My fear is that we spend too much focusing on the negative and missing all the great things that are positive.
Know that I hear your concerns and I will do whatever I can to eliminate as much stress as I can but as with any change, there will be some growing pains.
My greatest hope is for a successful school year. I know that Daniels Dragrons have always been a powerful group of teachers and I know that we can slay any new challenges. I am not fearful only postive that we will pull together and do what it takes. Welcome to all newcomers!
My greatest hope is to have a great year at Daniels and do my best to help students be successful. My fear is that with so much new information, I won't be able to meet all of the expectations...But I am staying positive!
I hope we become famous this year by academic achievement and leading and modeling the way for our district. Hopefully we will reach the finish line all in one piece! Let's support one another because together we all win.
Welcome back to all returning staff and a very warm welcome to our Daniels Family, to all new staff. My greatest hope is that the friendly, helpful atmosphere does not change. My greatest fear is the fear of the unknown. There are many "unknown" variables.
After meeting many of our new staff members, I am excited and have high hopes of new, fresh blood energizing us and all of us working together to make Daniels an outstanding and warm learning environment for all. My fear also is the unknown, not meeting expectations and being overwhelmed.
My greatest hope is that Daniels Academy will experience great success academically. I have no fear only a little anxiety entering my first year as a counselor in a new school district.
I would like to welcome all of the staff members that are new to Daniels. I hope that we are all able to work together for our students to be successful. I fear I will not be fully prepared for the start of school, since I used my entire summer to slack off...
My greatest hope is that Daniels will exceed in student achievement and that we will be on the top of the list not only in our district, but the state. We have the best staff and students so I know we will meet this standard.
With the great teamwork and leadership that I have seen and experienced, my fears have subsided.
My greatest hope is that we will have a positive and productive school year. Our campus will be a family unit again.
ReplyDeleteMy greatest fear is that our school will be chaotic and dysfunctional.
